This is far superior to the wired Ring doorbell camera. I previously had the wired version, but the chime in my hallway was constantly buzzing, so I decided to switch to this battery-operated model, and I’m thrilled with it. I could clearly hear my neighbors arguing across the street; it was as if they were right on my porch. The picture quality is excellent, allowing for great visibility up, down, and on both sides. I’ve only had it installed for a week, so I can’t say much about the battery life yet. I fully charged it before installation, and after completing the setup, the battery dropped to 62%. Now, a week later, it’s at 54%. It came with a charging cable and a tool for easily removing it from the wall for charging.

This battery-operated camera doorbell is fantastic! It integrates seamlessly with my Alexa and phone. I’ve shared it with my Marine friend, allowing him to see and communicate with me whenever I come and go, which adds to my sense of security living alone in an apartment building. The audio quality is clear, the microphone functions well, and the camera offers a wide angle from ceiling to floor. It’s perfectly sized, not overly sensitive, and provides great value for peace of mind. The functionality is top-notch!

I’ve been using the Ring Doorbell Pro 2 for about two years, and I’ve encountered several issues. After upgrading my transformer from 16VA to 24VAC, the problems decreased but didn’t completely vanish. One strange issue I experienced was that tapping the bell button with a mechanical ringer would disconnect the Wi-Fi. This happened frequently until I changed the transformer, so I suspect an electronic doorbell ringer might have solved it. My original Ring Doorbell functioned flawlessly, so I decided to switch to this Battery Doorbell. The advantage is that it has both a battery and can be hardwired, eliminating Wi-Fi problems. If the doorbell requires more power, it can draw from the battery to cover anything the transformer doesn’t supply. Honestly, there’s not much difference between the Battery Doorbell and the Pro 2 (now Pro); the field of view is the same, and the sound quality is just as good. I don’t get the “bird’s eye” view of how someone approaches my front door, but I have other cameras to capture that. At a fifth of the price of the Pro, it made sense to replace a doorbell that had inherent faults.

Necessary hardware upgrades: (1) It would be great if multiple doorbells could connect to one chime, allowing for distinct notifications, such as different sounds for the front and back doors. (2) The sound played at the doorbell should match the notifications from the chime and the app. (3) The delay between doorbell rings should be shortened to 1 or 2 seconds. (4) Motion detection is overly sensitive, even on the lowest setting. I ended up disabling it.
Necessary software improvements: The app is quite confusing. Navigating between devices (doorbell, chime, app) requires excessive tapping, and the configuration options are not logically organized. I had difficulty finding where to change the Wi-Fi connection, as it was buried in the status page. The sound options for the doorbell, chime, and app should be consistent. Overall, I found the app to be perplexing and time-consuming.

I never imagined that a doorbell would become one of my favorite tech purchases, but here we are. The Ring doorbell has completely transformed my perspective on home security. Installation was a breeze—I had it set up and operational in under 30 minutes, and I’m no DIY expert.
The video quality is impressive, even in low light, and the motion alerts are quick and precise. I love being able to see who’s at my door, whether I’m at home or not. The two-way talk feature is surprisingly clear, making it perfect for everything from chatting with delivery drivers to deterring door-to-door salespeople.
The app is user-friendly and provides complete control over motion zones and notifications. I also value the ability to review past footage with the Ring Protect plan—definitely worth the small monthly fee.
It’s not just a gadget; it has truly added a sense of comfort and control to my daily routine. I highly recommend it if you’re even slightly considering a doorbell upgrade.

This product is definitely an upgrade from the previous one I had. I decided to get a new one to see if it would perform better, and I’m pleased to say it exceeds my expectations. I can see much more clearly now. Thank you, Amazon!

Super easy to set up, definitely the best option I’ve tried. Works well, but it struggles to pick up registration details beyond 10 meters. 🙁
Absolutely love it… will be buying another for the bedroom –
Excellent doorbell with impressive picture quality and a good view of the front entrance. The app is easy to use, and there’s no lag with the motion sensor or doorbell alerts. The battery lasted a couple of months before needing a recharge. The only downside is the requirement for a paid subscription, as there’s no option for an SD card.

I bought this doorbell because my previous one suddenly refused to connect to my WiFi. The setup was straightforward, and it’s the same size as my old doorbell camera. The picture quality is impressive, and the notifications are reliable. I’ve never experienced any issues with Ring. There might be a slight lag, but I won’t know for sure until it’s installed after charging. You can customize the settings to your preference.

The installation process was fast and straightforward. There’s no need for wiring, and the battery life is impressive, lasting quite a while between charges. The video quality is clear, even in low light, and the motion detection works perfectly. I appreciate receiving instant notifications and being able to see and communicate with visitors directly from my phone. It truly enhances my sense of security and convenience, particularly when I’m away from home. If you’re in the market for a smart, wireless doorbell that performs reliably, this one is definitely a great choice!
