After using it for 5 months, I’m extremely satisfied. While the compressor can be a bit noisy, it’s a minor inconvenience for the impressive dehumidification it provides. I highly recommend using an external 5 or 6-gallon bucket with the hose and pump option; otherwise, you’ll be emptying the built-in bucket several times a day. This unit extracts a significant amount of moisture from the air. A few months in, the compressor malfunctioned, but I contacted the company via Amazon and they promptly sent a replacement along with a prepaid return label for the faulty unit. I’m truly impressed with their customer service! Overall, I give this Wakar product 5 stars and will definitely consider their other appliances.

I purchased this unit for my 1700 sq ft home in central Texas. Upon arrival, I carefully followed the unboxing instructions and let it sit for 24 hours to allow the oil and coolant to settle. When I powered it on, it quickly began extracting humidity and filling the basin, effectively lowering the humidity to my desired level. As the summer progressed and the muggy weather set in, it continued to maintain my settings seamlessly. I also had two smaller desktop units from different brands in other rooms, and while they were still working, their efficiency decreased as the Waykar effectively handled most of the humidity—definitely a sign of its strong performance. It took about three days to reach a stable state where it wasn’t running constantly, and afterwards, it maintained the humidity level well. Note: Waykar advises running it continuously at first or during significant outdoor humidity increases.
When we went on vacation, I placed it on the counter and used the drain line to empty into the sink, which worked perfectly since we wouldn’t be there to empty the basin.
However, almost a year later, it seems to be losing efficiency. I’ve cleaned the intake filter, but it hasn’t improved the situation. I’m currently working with support, who has been very responsive, to troubleshoot and find next steps. Since I’m still within the one-year warranty, I’m not overly concerned.

I bought this for my large heated garage to manage humidity and moisture levels. We already had two other units that were struggling to keep up. When we took this unit out of the box, we were surprised to see that it was smaller than our existing ones. However, after a couple of weeks of use, it has proven to be twice as effective as the others. We are very pleased with our purchase, although we do wish the water collection bucket was larger. For now, we’ve attached an external drain hose to make it work.
